  • Room Class I: Operating Rooms
    • Room Class Ia: Low-turbulence displacement airflow (TAV concept, septic operating rooms and areas with high contamination risk)
    • Room Class Ib: Turbulent mixed ventilation / mixed airflow
  • Room Class II: Other rooms within the operating department, examination rooms
The operation of HVAC systems falls under this standard only if the systems have been planned, built, and commissioned in accordance with it. Facilities for the treatment of highly infectious, life-threatening diseases are not covered by this standard.
